What we teach

Thomford Academy runs at Dorcan Academy in Swindon, every Saturday in term time.

Thomford Tinies (ages 4 & 5) – 9am to 10am

Main Academy (ages 6 to 18) – 10am to 1pm.

Our Thomford Tinies class teaches acting, movement and singing to the ages of 4 to 5. Our main academy is for the ages of 6 to 18, and has classes in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Casting.

The main academy classes are taught in different age groups. We have our Minis(aged 6-8), our Middies (aged 9 to 11) and our Seniors (aged 12 plus).

As well as our regular classes, we have industry workshops delivered by professionals. We always have a show coming up!

Musical Theatre

Staging numbers from different styles of musicals. Preparing for performances.

Acting

Acting skills predominantly for the stage. A heavy focus on new contemporary work, with many plays written for the students.

Casting

Casting workshops for musical theatre and acting. Learning the techniques required for auditions. Professionals often visit to deliver a mixture of experienced feedback.

Our shows

Our students perform both in Swindon and across the country for variety and experience. Our students have already performed at the STEAM Museum, Wyvern Theatre and the Cheltenham Playhouse. Our shows are often new plays written for our students. Our Musical Theatre shows include a range of genres and styles. Always a new venue and a new show around the corner!
